In this article, I will share video footages of my live trade setup on GC Futures vs XAUUSD CFD.

The trades are based on my strategy analysis that you can find in this notebook: https://datalore.jetbrains.com/report/static/JjCjNThnvSm3DLtZQPXSbY/n4yx1Z5QhPOiD055LixlPq

Warning:

  • Some brokers hate this style of trading. That is because they have to provide collateral margin both on their Futures account and their CFD account while you as a trader can have shared collateral on a single MT5 account. If you have a small trading account, it should be ok, but in some cases, the broker will contact you that they are not ok with it. Safe bet is to just keep a separate futures and CFD trading account.

A quick update on my XAUUSD trade setup. I realized that my broker also offers GCM6 futures on their MT5 platform. This is great for the trader because you create a hedged position on the same platform and you don't have to worry about liquidations as much.

I simply entered the trade manually on the MT5 platform. I bought GCM6 and sold XAUUSD very fast with manual clicks in small increments until I achieve 1 lot exposure.
